Product Description

This Sumatra is a perennial favorite of mine, and I always buy it and keep it around as long as I can! This coffee is from small-holder farms, triple sorted by hand, then sun-dried in the traditional manner. Notes of butterscotch, sorghum, 55% cacao, horehound cough drops, mild and sweet acidity, and a hint of pine. Balanced and beautiful!

Sold in 1lb increments.

Super tasty medium roast with a dark chocolate flavor and a slight citrusy sweetness at the back of the tongue.

I'm in love with this Sumatra Butu Mahal. This stuff has changed me and I will never be able to go back to store bought coffee ever again.

Balanced, low acid, pretty chocolaty tasting to me.
Makes a good cup of drip.

Like so many of West Coast Roasting's coffees, this one is a gem. I'm not good with picking out fruit and floral notes, so I won't go there. I will say that this coffee tastes as good as it smells out of the bag.

I find West Coast's coffee to smell like coffee should smell. Maybe that's because it was freshly roasted the day before (or often the same day) they send it out to you. Where else can you get that? I mean, it's just so amazing the way this stuff smells. My mail lady has commented numerous times how she loves having my box of coffee in her mail truck all day before she delivers.

I love how I can set my grinder to more fine or more course to bring out a whole new taste profile in this coffee. It is also great in my espresso maker. Makes some super tasty espresso. I like it as much as their Espresso Toro which is another great coffee from West Coast.

I've been a loyal customer for 5 years now. I struggle when I'm away from home and have to buy my coffee at one of the corporate coffee places. I am spoiled because I enjoy some of the very best coffee available daily thanks to West Coast Roasting company.
