This Sumatra comes from one of my favorite suppliers with a long history of working with local growers to produce excellent coffees in many coffee growing nations, while providing above market pay. Grown at high altitude south of Lake Toba, this wet-hulled, fully-fermented coffee is double sorted by hand, yielding an extremely high quality cup using traditional methods for the region. Deep and thick, with chocolatey syrup and sorghum sweetness, fresh pipe tobacco, ricola herbaciousness, and a sweet tamarind tang.
